A par 72 course, Willard Byrd has designed a 7,003 yard course with a 74.0 rating and a slope rating of 132. The course features Bent-grass greens and are very well manicured and ready to challenge you to your best game of golf.

The course features two unique and challenging styles. Water lurks everywhere awaiting your balls while sharp bends and twist spring up to surprise you. There are an abundance of elevated tee boxes, fairway mounds, and pesky sand traps also ready to give you a headache. The trickiest element of the entire golf course may be the deep sugar white sand bunkers which line many of the fairways.

The front nine features tall Carolina Pines and many natural elevation changes while the back nine features a Scottish feel with wide-open fairways, fields of flowers, and brutal winds. The open, hilly course treats golfers with spectacular views of the surrounding North Carolina wetlands.

After you finish trying to tame the Lion, visit the safari-themed clubhouse which includes a full-service pro shop, a snack bar, and Tamers Restaurant and Lounge. Tamers serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
