Woodland Valley Golf Club
Loris, South Carolina
If you haven't been to the Myrtle Beach area in the past few years, you may be searching for the old time favorite Diamond Back Golf Club. Don't worry folks, the course does still exist just under a new name!
Now known as the Woodland Valley Golf Club, this championship 18-hole track was designed by architect Russell Breeden. In development, Breeden strategically placed bunkers and water areas to provide you with a fun and challenging round of golf.
The course was the first in the area to use Jensen Ultra Dwarf turf on its greens. The course plays through beautifully unspoiled natural wetlands and low country forest. The back nine is particularly natural setting. Some of these beautiful natural wetlands come into play. The par-5 hole 15 doglegs left with a second shot that plays over a pond to an elevated green. However, it is the 17th that incorporates the most water and requires an approach over a pond.
With a course rating of 74 and a slope rating of 139, the par 3's on this course are very intriguing and vary from 144-209 yards in length. Make sure you book Woodland Valley Golf Club in your golf package and experience the most daunting course on the Grand Strand.
