Tiger's Eye is another Tom Cate design that fails to disappoint, with a slope of 144 and 7,014 yards of golfing paradise. You'll feel as though you're playing in a mountainous region when you're actually playing right off the North Carolina coastline.

Water is a dominant feature here and comes into play on 13 of the 18 holes. Cate placed water hazards which will stare you down and threaten your successful golfing day. You'll happily welcome a warm-up hole in the form of a par-4, but that's the only breather you'll get at Tiger's Eye.

Huge landing areas were put in as a relief to golfers who find they struggle in their attempts to tame this jungle cat. You'll find yourself facing some of the most intense golfing challenges here. Tiger's Eye has achieved continuous recognition by Golf Digest and Golfweek Magazine.

Cate tried to ensure that he highlighted the natural land on which he was given to design Tiger's Eye. More than a half-mile of coquina boulders were used to build the bulkheads found throughout the course. In fact, some of the boulders were native to the area and have shark's teeth, million-year old mastodon teeth, and shells within them.
