With a million reasons to visit Georgetown, South Carolina, it can't hurt to add one more! Wedgefield Plantation Country Club rests on this beautiful old southern land. The course was once ranked as one of the Top 15 Courses in South Carolina by GolfWeek Magazine. Winding its way around natural swamps and marshes, Wedgefield will not fail to disappoint you when it comes to aesthetic beauty. Take the drive into the clubhouse, for example. Where else are you welcomed by towering picturesque moss-draped oaks? Southern charm practically seeps out of this course. Opened in 1972, the course is home to some of the most difficult par-5's on the Grand Strand. Strategically placed bunkers won't make your day easy either.

Wedgefield Plantation Country Club is one of the very few courses along the Strand rich in Southern history. The country club is also home to a savory restaurant located in the brick plantation house. The dining room of the Plantation House Restaurant overlooks the 18th hole, which is surrounded by the brick remains of the original Plantation house.
