The beautiful 27 hole golf course provides beginners and passionate golfers with a unforgettable and tricky golfing experience. The natural beauty of the Calabash terrain has been emphasized by the recently renovated Bermuda grass greens and tall Carolina pines. Golfers love how wide open the course is and the fact that it is extremely forgiving from the forward tees gives higher handicappers the opportunity to shoot some of their lowest scores.
With a course rating of 73.8 and a slope rating of 135, the course has a length of 6,717 yards from the longest tees. The course is divided into three separate courses: the Magnolia, the Azalea, and the Dogwood. Each have very distinct features and each will challenge your game physically and mentally.
The Magnolia course is modeled after the Scottish links, where golf first initiated. The large sand and grass bunkers here will definitely present you with a challenge. Specifically, water comes into play on three holes and three more are heavily bunkered, so hazards are a key element of the opening holes. This course is also very heavily mounded making the holes tough but reachable.
The Azalea course is surrounded by the thick Carolina woodlands and offer you beautiful scenery. Water is a very dominant feature on many of the Azalea course holes, requiring intense thought and strategy on every shot. The island green signature hole is surrounded by oyster shells and will definitely give you a challenge, so don't let the beauty of the hole distract you.
The Dogwood course runs along the Caw Caw Run and has a very wide open design. It is the newest nine and the beautiful lush fairways will keep you on your toes.
