Barefoot Resort Courses
One of the fastest growing areas on the Grand Strand is also home to four grandiose golf courses. Barefoot Resort houses courses developed by Greg Norman, Tom Fazio, Davis Love, and Pete Dye. Each course is uniquely designed and each has distinct features to tantalize your golfing taste buds.
All together, the Barefoot courses rest right alongside the waterway, stretching for 2300 acres. They wind through the trees and are developed on fairly unspoiled grounds.
The Dye course is built for difficulty. If you're searching for a challenge course that requires your upmost attention and focus then the Dye course is just for you! The longest of all four courses, the fairways of the Dye course are highlighted by a multitude of mounds and plenty of water and greenside bunkers. The vegetation on the course is mostly on the perimeter and out of the way. The first four holes on the course are easily warm-ups for the hard work you face ahead. Make sure you bring all of your clubs because you'll most likely use every single one of them in an attempt to tame this beast! The most exciting hole on the Dye course is Hole 18. Characterized by a very narrow landing area, it is guarded on each side by a lake and wide bunkers, and has little to no bailout. Another favorite of the Dye course, hole 10, is bordered from the tee to the green by a large lake. It doglegs left onto an elevated green. It is also bored on the other side by huge wide bunkers, three to be exact.
Not as extreme as its neighbor, the Love course attracts golfers of all levels and has more wide fairways. Voted the "6th Best New Golf Course in the United States" in 2000, the course features seven lakes and has accompanying wetlands on almost each
