Visit the Serpentarium, where you'll find various snake species including but not limited to the green anaconda, retriculated python, king cobra, and other poisonous snakes. View the "big puppies with shells," also known as Galapagos Tortoises. The largest, Gabby, weighs 450 lbs and is 52 years old! Don't forget about the otters, zebras, and beavers which are also featured animals at this animal resort. There are also frogs, lizards, turtles, and crocodiles to feed your reptile curiousity. Lastly, the tigers, lemurs, and birds will make lasting impressions on all visitors. The park also features live shows which range from live alligator feedings, snake handlings, and live alligator handling and lectures.

This 9,200 acre is a National Historic Landmark as well as a wildlife preserve and sculpture garden. The area was formerly four rice plantations which were owned by the biggest American slaveholder at the time. It is now the country's oldest and largest sculpture garden. The garden features around 550 works of American figurative sculpture as well as beautiful flora and fauna. There is also a Lowcountry Trail with native wildlife, cultural, and historic exhibits.

"Touch, Explore, and Play," while educating your children. Learn about the local animals and habitats in the Discover South Carolina exhibit while also learning fun facts about the Palmetto state. In the It's Electric exhibit, children will investigate electricity as you generate electricity to power your own city. Turn on motors and lights by building circuits as well as explore a magnetic field. The favorite exhibit, the Magic School Bus, features a continuous play of Magic School Bus videos. The Kidz Medical Center and Dr. Molar's Dental Clinic allow your child to step in the medical world and role-play. Learn about bones, muscles, teeth, and more while playing the role of doctor, dentist, nurse, or patient!

Ever wondered what's out there living in the ocean you've come to visit? Take a trip to Broadway at the Beach and enjoy the state-of-the-art Ripley's Aquarium. This 85,000 square foot dining and entertainment complex features 8 home exhibits and one exclusive yearly exhibit. The Rio Amazon explores the aquatic animals of the Amazon River which includes piranhas, stingrays, armored catfish, and other freshwater species. Make sure to visit the Rainbow Rock exhibit which features thousands of bright and intensely colored fish from the Pacific tropical islands swimming around hand-crafted replicas of the amazing reefs they naturally habituate. Here you can watch the trained divers feed the fish daily! The Dangerous Reef exhibit is the largest and most popular and allows you to gawk at fish of every size, shape, color, and demeanor. Travel on a unique 340 foot moving glidepath through tunnels and become completely surrounded by turtles, stingrays, sawfish, and SHARKS! Come face-to-face, or hand-to-fin with stingrays at Stingray Bay where you'll be able to touch these large cartilage animals.

The aquarium isn't the only Ripley's attraction on the Grand Strand. Visit Ripley's Believe it or Not and be awestruck by the oddities housed within! This museum inspired the TV show and features the largest collection of the everything odd and unusual. Then, go right down the street and have all your greatest fears confronted at Ripley's Haunted Adventure. The attraction features live actors, animatronics, and grizzly special effects. Visitors to the attraction will enjoy a variety of experiences including being blown away by 74 mile per hour hurricane-force winds, maneuvering the controls of a NASA spacecraft to land the shuttle, lying on a bed of 3,500 nails, piloting a fighter jet, designing and riding a 360 degree virtual roller coaster, playing virtual sports and competing in a game of lazer-tag.
